How I gamified my path to a master’s

Rooms, flags, XP, and Anki on my phone — what I built to actually study while preparing for a master’s.

I’m preparing for a master’s, and along the way I need math, ML, signals, systems, LLVM. The problem is I study badly when the only record of the day is “I watched a lesson”: it works in the moment and disappears later. Playlists and Notion weren’t holding that.

So I gamified the process.

I built /estudo on the site, TryHackMe-style: rooms, a terminal, phases, and a FLAG at the end. You either finished the room or you didn’t. The tracks are the ones I need right now; I started with math because my foundation is weak. There’s XP and a mage rank on top — silly, but it gets me to come back the next day.

Mage Daily is the phone app. Short article, Anki-style card, review. Same backend as the rooms. I use the room to practice and the card to review later; when I mashed everything into one feed, I just scrolled and felt like I’d studied.

There’s a bot and an API to feed articles/cards, but the core stays simple: open the room and finish the flag.

I’m still at the beginning (math, one room at a time). If you want to look: edevs.com.br/estudo. Other writing at /pedro.
